Homemade Hummus & Pita Chips + Update!!

GUYS. It's been like a month.  I'm so very sorry I was MIA for so long!  But guess what miracle happened?  I'm out of school!!!!  Shall we have a dance party on the keyboard?  Why not?

Okay now we can resume.  I made you food!  Hummus to be exact.  It was amazing.  Plus, I was finally able to get some good pictures. OH that reminds me.  I'm getting a fancy camera :)  I've been saving and saving and now I'm finally going to order it.  I'm going to get it sometime over the summer and when I do I will let you know how I like it.

If you were wondering, it is the Canon T3i with a 18-55mm lens.  Once I get it I can start making videos and posting them on my neglected channel.

One more announcement, I'm going to soon be changing my blog layout, as I've gotten tired of it recently.  I hope you will stick with me here!

Now for this glorious hummus recipe I've crafted for you.

Homemade Hummus & Pita Chips

2 cups drained canned chickpeas (reserve liquid)
Garlic powder to taste
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
1 tbsp cumin
Salt and pepper

Directions : Blend chickpeas, olive oil, lemon juice and cumin in a food processor.  Add salt and pepper to mixture.  Blend, adding reserved liquid and olive oil until smooth.  Depending on how thick you like hummus (I kept mine pretty thick), the amount of liquid will vary.  For pita chips, preheat oven to 450 degrees F.  Place whole pitas on baking sheet and cook for around 10 minutes.  Turn them at about the 5 minute mark.  Once they are cool, you can cut them as desired.

Stay tuned for my next post - I have something VERY special for you!  Can you guess what it is?

Much Love!

Sydney xx
